MY DOP STYLE FOR 2024
For years, I have sought to bring cinematic techniques to the world of sports by incorporating more equipment, meticulous preparation, and precise attention to visual details. My goal was to give sports productions a cinematic aesthetic that would elevate the viewer's experience. I dreamed of epic action scenes and captivating visual storytelling.
However, over time, I encountered constraints that forced me to rethink my approach. Time limitations, logistical challenges related to transporting bulky equipment to remote or mountainous locations, and rising costs could quickly impact the budget. Even worse, this overload of equipment could be intrusive for the people being filmed (a huge problem for documentaries) while also making some action scenes difficult to execute.

For 2024, my goal is to find the right balance between the flexibility of lighter shoots and the visual quality of larger productions. This involves creating lighter equipment kits to film beautiful footage in hard-to-reach places, as well as meticulously preparing larger filming areas to minimize downtime between takes and avoid disturbing the person being filmed.
The idea is to tell visually stunning stories while staying agile and adaptable, able to tackle any challenge, whether it's difficult terrain, time constraints, or limited budgets.
Advantages (+):
  • Quick to set up.
  • Suitable for hard-to-reach locations.
  • Less expensive than a large installation.
  • Not disruptive for the participants being filmed.
  • Allows you to film more easily in low light.
  • Offers plenty of room for creative shots.
